Lazy Weekends

It was a beautiful day for a lazy saturday this weekend, and that's exactly what we had.

we spent the afternoon at Discovery Park...

...and finished the day with a sunset cruise.

Bri and Jeff's Wedding

It's been over a month sense Bri and Jeff's wedding, and although I sadly didn't get to take nearly as many pictures as I would have liked, I do have a few that I think turned out quite nice.

The Inspiration Folder

After days like today when the creative juices seem to have squeezed out the last drop I love to move from the graphic design world to the interior design world. Don't ask me why but the two speak to me very differently, the interior world an escape from the graphic world when my brain shuts off and doesn't want to think about grids for another second. That said, I have so many ideas for my new place I'm slightly overwhelmed. Each wall in my little apartment I want to paint, wallpaper, or rehang something in the worse way. So much so that Will napping is about the only thing stopping me from hunting around with my cordless drill for something to hang. I suppose I'll just have to tap into the 'ol inspiration folder and mentally hang things for this evening.

I saw this on design sponge as a dyi project, and although I'm always up for that, buying one might be slightly easier.

Somehow, some way, I want this to happen in my bathroom. Still haven't quite figured out how yet.

This is actually in the range of possibilities, and would give me an excuse to buy some of those vintage cameras I always droll over at flea markets.

I've deiced a need some yellow to break up the grey/teal in the living room, and I love the blown up B&W print.

Inspiring Thursdays

As Thursday is slowly ticking by I'm having an inspirational lull. Surfing design sites trying to come up with a genius idea for a project I'm working on, I stumbled upon a LA based photographer who's work I'm now gushing over. I only dream of being able to take photos like this, and looking at them makes me want to turn my office into a studio and get started this very moment.

Away to London!

I'm writing a special goodbye post to my dear friend Liz who is off to London! I grabbed a drink with her last night to say our goodbyes and hold back our tears. We spoke of me visiting some day and I hope she's ready to take me up on it, because I've got my itinerary mentally planned already.

Lovely Liz on her last night in Seattle

Beautiful poster from fffound!

I couldn't resist...

Everybody Night

I finally hosted what started as movie night, then evolved to ladies night, and as of lately, everybody night, at my new place on Tuesday. The sad part is it's the last time Liz will be joining us as she's shipping off to London next week for grad school. The happy part was the pizza I made turned out quite delicious, and the salad Liz made was nothing short of amazing. The recipe for the pizza I found months ago and finally had a chance to test not only the recipe out, but the gas oven. I can happily report both were a success, the pizza was a hit and I didn't burn the building down.

The tragedy is I was too lazy to get out my camera and get a good picture of it, so the 'ol cell phone pic will have to suffice.

The Pizza:
Trader Joe's pizza dough
1 Onion, roughly chopped into “chunks”
2 Sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
Ricotta cheese
1 bulb of Garlic (the original recipe called for 1 table spoon of garlic paste... yeah right)
Thyme
Mozzarella cheese, grated
Olive oil
Salt & Pepper

I simply drizzled the potatoes onion and whole garlic cloves with olive oil, added a little salt and pepper and let it bake for about 30 min at 400 degrees. Then transfered everything onto the crust coated with ricotta cheese and baked for another 30 minutes.

The Parking Lot

So we no longer have a backyard to let Moe run around in, but we do have a parking lot to take pictures of. Lame trade off, I admit, but at least it provides some cool photo opportunities.

Life on the hill tastes good (Part 2)

Not only is breakfast served all day at Cafe Presse, but they don't even look twice when you order it at 2 in the afternoon. Will and I each had the Croque Madam on Saturday, which can only be described as the indecisive hang over's dream come true. The menu describes it as "“Baked ham, gruyere and béchamel sandwich, with a sunny side up egg”. Or in other words, an enormous piece of amazing french toast, ham, and a perfectly cooked egg. So, if you find yourself with a slight head ache, at 2 in the afternoon in Capitol Hill, I highly recommend it. Or alternatively, we've also been here for dinner, which I unfortunately did not snap a picture of, and it was amazing as well. $3.50 glasses of wine don't hurt either...
