A large portion of my dream home wish list is having some sort of inside/outside aspect. I just love the idea of opening a (giant) door having inside meet out. Yes, I'm living in the wrong climate for this dream, I realize this.
Regardless, this tickled my fancy today and I thought I would share.

I T C H I N G
I don't know what it it lately but all I can think about is our upcoming trip. It's quite honestly the first thing I think about when I wake up, and the last before I go to bed. We'll be gone for a month and I can already tell I'll wish it was longer. It probably doesn't help that I've been looking at Mr & Mrs Globe Trot, their blog will make you want to buy a one way ticket to anywhere and never look back.

PAPAER COLLAGES
These pieces by Lyndia Shirreff are pretty sweet. I can't imagine how long it takes to cut all those shapes out. Patience I only wish I possessed.

ABOUT A KETTLE
I realize about 99% of the time I stumble upon something beautiful online it's way overpriced. Today that happened when I saw this tea kettle from West Elm. It's white, it's wood, its enamel, and I love it. But $150 bucks? Give me a break. In about 30 seconds of searching on Etsy I found this little guy for a fraction of the price. Boom. It's not white, but it's vintage and teak, and awesome.
The entire Etsy shop is great by the way, I recommend you check it out. I'm eyeballing a few things I totally don't need, but will probably buy later this evening after a few glasses of wine. That's when I do the majority of my unnecessary online shopping, when inhibitions are nice and lubricated. This is also something I recommend.

P I K E / P I N E
I'm doing a bit of portfolio shooing at work today which means I finally have photos of the Pike/Pine Independent Retail Map I designed! This project was awesome, the client was great and best of all I had creative freedom, which is not something to be taken for granted. So pick one up and get shoppin'!

ADVENTURE TIME
Sorry for the radio silence, between being sick and my computer having a little meltdown, I have been a bit distracted. I do have good news though, Will and I are heading out of town for month to travel around Thailand and Vietnam! Yep, I'm going to Thailand for the third time, I just love that country and I can't wit to show Will around. Vietnam will be new to both of us, so that's bound to be an awesome adventure. Now it's time to buckle down and get a ton of work done in the next few months before we strap on our backpacks and say goodbye to computer screens.

SIMMER POT
Simmering herbs is such a simple way to make your house smell lovely. All you really have to do is look around your kitchen and find a few ingredients to throw in a pot and simmer. In my case, we had a sprig of doug fir, bay leaf, orange peel and cloves.

gold + black
My mom pointed out over Christmas that I used to hate gold. This seems insane as 99% of the jewelry I own is gold. It's funny how much taste changes. That said, what's the rule on buying yourself a diamond ring? It's cool you say? Awesome.
a camera
Of all the presents given and received this year, one was particularly special; my Grandma's Pentax camera. When my Mom gave it to me, and I almost cried. I'll be honest, I've been really lazy about shooting with film lately. And by lately I mean in the last few years... ya, it's bad. I have so many cool old cameras that barley get any use. This gift though has jump started me back into film and I'm anxious and excited to get out this weekend and start shooting.
