I really dig this idea; kraft paper, plain paper, cool tape and some hand drawn type. Simple and beautiful.

tool bag
This might be the prettiest tool bag ever. I might carry this around with me all day, hammer and all.

hand lettering
I've had a thing for hand lettering lately. It's such an amazing talent I want so badly to possess. Jon Contino's work makes me want to pick up a pen and force myself away from the computer this instant.

cinco anos
Man, I must be getting old because time if flying by. Five years ago this weekend, Will and I started dating. I had tapestries hanging on my walls and he had dad jeans. Side note, I loved those dad jeans, in fact I even thought he looked good on them.
So five years later, we decided to do what we do best, wander around our fair city, eating and drinking. We started at Oddfellows for brunch, made our way to Beecher's for mac and cheese, City Fish for smoked salmon, Maximilien for beer and mussels, and Matt's in the Market for an amazing happy hour, I highly recommend. Not a bad day, and certainly not a bad five years.

me and the blue hairs
Will thinks you have to be an old lady to want to go to Palm Springs, but I disagree. I want to go down there and soak in the sun and dry desert air with a big hat and a shrimp cocktail. And of course, I want to stay at the Ace hotel. I'll get him to come around somehow.

need supply co.
My coworker Shannon turned me on to the Need Supply Co. this afternoon and I have a feeling I'm going to be purchasing quite a few things.
a little late, but hey
I just remembered I took a cute picture of Becca on her birthday a few weeks ago and thought I would share... better late then never, right?

the eames
We watched a documentary last night on Charles and Ray Eames, and though I studied their work in school, there's a lot about the couple I didn't know. They're design process was quite unique, and very inspirational. I've really only ever known the Eames work for furniture and of course they're home, which is why the documentary is great, because it outlines all of their work, including exhibit and video. So, if you're in the mood for a documentary or have ever sat in an Eames chair (which you probably have without even knowing it) I recommend checking it out.

let's do this thing
Alright, now that freakout mode has concluded, I've decided to take a step back and get painfully organized to deal with this new twist on apartment life. Yes, my landlord has decided in a 500 square foot apartment to graciously install and washer and dryer in our one and only tiny closet. Never mind the big empty area in the kitchen that's begging for something to be put there. But hey, he's new to the building, so we'll give him some slack. Plus I get a washer and dryer so I can't bitch too much.
Ok, back to the dilema. We have lost valuable storage space, and I'm determined to not let this break me. One of the things I absolutely love about place is the high ceilings. That said, I think it's time to start utilizing them better. I've never been a fan of hanging things so high that you need a step ladder to get to them, which for me isn't very high, but I need to get over it. So the new plan is to free up space by going up, and using the space that we have to the fullest. Here is a little inspiration I've found to keep the light at the end of the tunnel visible.

i don't deal well with messes
I'm a neat freak when it comes to our apartment, mostly because it's so so small that the littlest mess make the entire place feel a bomb exploded. Currently our entire bathroom is in out bedroom and our entire closet is in our living room, due to pipe maintenance. I'm trying to keep my cool, but it's making me crazy.
