Cabin Weekends

Will and I escaped to one of my favorite places this weekend; the cabin.

Palate Headboard

Alright, I'm a little jealous of this, only because I've been telling Will I want to do the exact same thing for quite a while now, and of course haven't gotten around to it. There are constantly palates in the street near our apartment, but picking something up off the street and putting in your bedroom just hasn't seemed the appealing. Clearly I would clean it, but then comes the work of sanding, and even staining, and suddenly it's an entire project that I don't have the space for. Again, and this seems to be a theme for the evening, one day I'll do something like this, somewhere in my house.

Chalk Art

Ok I'm about the 10,000th person to blog about the chalk work by Dana Tanamachi, but I'm going to do it anyway, because I think it's amazing. She's an artist in Brooklyn who does all of her work by hand, without stencils or projectors, and it's gorgeous. It makes my tiny little attempt at it on our kitchen wall look really pathetic. One day (again, in the mental dream home) I want to do something like this, perhaps in a kitchen.

On the Dream List

So I have a mental dream list of things I would love in my house one day, and this definitely makes the cut. These natural, curved wood floors from Bolefloor caught my eye this evening, and I had to share, I've never seen anything like it. I can't decide if they would be awesome or overwhelming to have throughout an entire house, but in the meantime it's pretty to look at.

Happy Friday

Maybe I won't be in SoCal this weekend but 80 degree weather at the cabin is good enough for me. It's been a long week, ironically, and I'm happy to be heading out of town to catch some rays.
