Life on the hill tastes good (Part 1)

One of the things I'm most excited about our new life on the hill, is the food, ooooh the food. Every corner you turn there is an amazing little place to grab som grub, and I couldn't be happier. My favorite place thus far is Oddfellows, an awesome place with outdoor seating, brick walls and a lofted ceiling. Oh, and did I mention, the amazing food?! I've been there a few times now, once for pulled pork sandwiches and BLATs, but this morning Will and I had a breakfast to die for. Eggs benedict is served with a Dexter portion of ham, and the eggs are perfectly poached. All in all, not just a great hangover cure, but an amazing breakfast that tempts me to never poor myself a bowl of cereal again.

Sneak Peak: The new place in progress

So I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures of the new place! I've still got a ton of work to do, but I figure a little sneak peak is definitely worthy of a post. Especially in a time when I'm incredibly frustrated with out previous landlord, I want to forget about all that, and enjoy our beautiful new place.

Fresh Flowers

As the time as come for us to pack up and move on, there are several things about our house I'm really going to miss, the yard, the hot tub, the sun room, and even, the flowers. If there is one thing Will and I have never planeted, it's flowers, because they have always been there. They pop up in fases throughout the year, but never as lush and beautiful as summer. I'm going to miss being able to step out my front door and pick flowers to put around the house, but who knows, maybe we'll have some at our next place.
For now, I'm filling vases throughout my house with the front yard flowers, including an awesome teal vase, or pitcher rather, I got a garage sale down the street.

I recently downloaded the "Hipstimatic" app for my phone, and I must say it does a pretty good job. Although I have a real polaroid camera staring at me this very moment, I have had a hard time wanting to use it, as I paid an ungodly amount for the film. Hopefully someday Polaroid will bring its precious film back into production so hipsters the world round can afford it, but until that happy day, we have apps...

Bachelorette Bubbly

As a fun little present for the ladies of Bir's bachelorette party, I made tags for min-champagne bottles. What originally were going to be labels, I realized were way to big for the tiny bottles, and ended up as tags, which I actually liked better, who'da thought? Anyway, it was a nice, fun project, and reminded me that when I'm getting bored with projects at work, I can always make my own fun ones!

Spring Color Inspiration

To make up for the fact that today is gloomy and sad I decided to post some images from when it wasn't... this weekend! I wandered around the last few days in a spring daze picking flowers and remembering how much I love Seattle in the Spring. Suffices to say Seattle is a bit bipolar however, and a beautiful sunny weekend can be followed by a gloomy monday. It feels as though the city looks you in the eye and says, "alright you had your fun, now back to work."
