Cocktail Book

I found this awesome cocktail book today by Elizabeth Graeber on Etsy that I'm loving. I've been looking for a good cocktail recipe book for a while, and haven't really been sold on anything. This book however is pretty rad, I love the drawings, and would even happily sacrifice pictures of drinks for these awesome illustrations.

Simple Geometry

I've had a design crush on geometry lately. I don't know why or where is came from but I'm putting triangles and circles on everything, and this artist I found today fit the bill.

Amazing Photographer

DEI contracts an amazing photographer who I for some reason had never really looked through his portfolio until now. I've seen the work he's done for clients, but never the amazing photos he has in his portfolio. If you're even in need of a photographer, I highly recommend him. Check his work out here

Why the hell are these popular?

I'm all for awesome knick-knacks that nobody needs, don't get me wrong, but why the hell are felt pebbles so popular? I constantly see them on design sites... don't get it.

Happy Father's Day

Thanks for being such an awesome dad, I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for you. Love ya dad!

Summer Sips

One of my new favorite cocktail ingredients has got to be Dry Soda. This stuff is already great on it's own and used as a splash in a summer sip, it's even better. Last night I experimented with lemon grass, along with lemon, mint, gin and another new favorite, Cointreau. It's fresh and clean, has just the right amount of sweetness, I highly recommend trying!

Salvaged Wood Wall

In love with this concept, and determined to make something similar some day.

Design Love : Dexter Editon

If you don't watch, Dexter, you should because it's one of the best shows on tv. It's a order Showtime for a few months just for it sort of thing, it's that good. So what could make it even more awesome? When designers love Dexter so much they make awesome posters.

BBQ Oysters

One of my favorite cabin activities, and one that usually keeps us all happily occupied, is cooking. There is never a shortage of amazing food at the cabin, and one of my personal favorites has become a tradition; BBQ Oysters. Not to say a raw oyster isn't great, but what isn't better slathered in garlic and butter? The recipe is simple, we buy medium oysters (slightly larger than shooters) from Tom Farmer, a little oyster shack in Allyn about 20 minutes from the cabin. Toss the whole oysters on the BBQ and once they pop, shuck the top off and slather with a mixture of olive oil, butter and garlic. Top with grated parmesan cheese and parsley and let bake for a few minutes. Simple as that, and before you know it you'll have gone through a few dozen.

A space in my kitchen for plants and herbs to grow.

Summer Sips

I've been pretending I know something about mixology lately due to my new bar eyeing me every time I walk by, and although my concoctions have been good so far, I'm ready for amazing. I found this recipe today from Food&Wine I'll have to give a spin:

Beauty Blog

Ok, I'm not proud of this, possibly even embarrassed, but there is a pretty rad beauty blog I've found that has lots of cool tips and tricks. The reason I'm slightly embarrassed? One of it's contributers in Lauren Conrad... yup, good 'ol LC. But hey, what the hell, we all like to feel pretty and sometime could use a few pointers, so why not? Go on, check it out, I know you want to...

Cabin Weekends

Will and I escaped to one of my favorite places this weekend; the cabin.

Palate Headboard

Alright, I'm a little jealous of this, only because I've been telling Will I want to do the exact same thing for quite a while now, and of course haven't gotten around to it. There are constantly palates in the street near our apartment, but picking something up off the street and putting in your bedroom just hasn't seemed the appealing. Clearly I would clean it, but then comes the work of sanding, and even staining, and suddenly it's an entire project that I don't have the space for. Again, and this seems to be a theme for the evening, one day I'll do something like this, somewhere in my house.

From Stylizimo

Chalk Art

Ok I'm about the 10,000th person to blog about the chalk work by Dana Tanamachi, but I'm going to do it anyway, because I think it's amazing. She's an artist in Brooklyn who does all of her work by hand, without stencils or projectors, and it's gorgeous. It makes my tiny little attempt at it on our kitchen wall look really pathetic. One day (again, in the mental dream home) I want to do something like this, perhaps in a kitchen.

On the Dream List

So I have a mental dream list of things I would love in my house one day, and this definitely makes the cut. These natural, curved wood floors from Bolefloor caught my eye this evening, and I had to share, I've never seen anything like it. I can't decide if they would be awesome or overwhelming to have throughout an entire house, but in the meantime it's pretty to look at.
